Composition
Candace Bilyk currently resides in Minneapolis, MN and is working on Project Loop, an initiative to create more royalty-free music for creators of online and amateur video. All of her works for Project Loop are licensed under Creative Commons.
In addition to Project Loop, Ms. Bilyk is available for commissions, arrangements, and copying services. She was a recent participant in the 2008 Nautilus Composer-Librettist Studio and will soon be working in the realm of music-theater as well!
Ms. Bilyk is a graduate of the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at the Catholic University of America where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition. While attending the university, Ms. Bilyk studied with Dr. Andrew Earle Simpson and Dr. Steven Strunk. She also served as co-president of the student-run Cardinal Composers Society for two years and helped to organize several new music concerts on campus.
Née Emberley, Ms. Bilyk was married to Nick Bilyk in October of 2007. Mr. Bilyk is a freelance computer programmer.
